Painting #4 in the Summer Trees Series

This series wouldn’t be complete without a classic sunset/silhouette painting. The reference photo was sent in by my friend, Jamie, and I knew it was the one to use. He said he found this tree at an old country intersection on a route he didn’t take very often around his home in Illinois. It was old and strong and glowing in the golden hour. I thought about how often glory seems to meet us on the road less traveled. The stillness evidence of endurance.
